Welcome to Taddington


Taddington is a village in the White Peak area of the Peak District. At 1100 feet high it is one of the highest villages in England.

Taddington is a linear village that stretches for around a mile from its high point at School Lane to the lowest point at Town End. The nearby village settlements of Priestcliffe, Blackwell and Brushfield also form part of the parish. The village is dominated by the 14th century parish church of St. Michael & All Angels.

The village lies half-way between Buxton and Bakewell. Nowadays the main A6 passes along a dual-carriageway that separates Taddington and Priestcliffe. Until the by-pass was built the main road ran through the centre of the village.

Popular with walkers and cyclists the village has an excellent bus services connecting with Manchester, Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield.
